Moonlight Peaks Beginner Guide — First Week on the Farm
New vampire farmer? This Moonlight Peaks beginner guide covers your first week: farm setup, meeting villagers, fishing basics, the Aquaflux spell and what to prioritize before your first season turns.
Updated 2026-08-23
Moonlight Peaks hands you a haunted farm and a town full of night creatures. Here’s how to make your first week count.
Day one priorities
- Clear a modest patch, not the whole farm. Energy is your real currency early on. Plant cheap, fast crops — Wild Potato (3 days, 3 yield) is quietly one of the best early money-makers.
- Meet the town. Gifting is cheap friendship; check our villager gift chart so every gift counts.
- Fish everywhere once. The basic rod catches 22 fish species across lakes, rivers, bays and marshes — an early lap doubles as sightseeing and income.
The first week checklist
- Plant your first seed rows and water daily (magic crops need the Aquaflux spell instead!)
- Gift two or three villagers per day — flowers are a safe universal pick
- Catch one of everything you see for the Aquarium/Museum collections
- Save up for the Herb Garden building if potions interest you
- Shake trees for free seeds and fiber — zero energy cost
Understand the seasons early
Seasons last a fixed span and off-season crops wither at the change. Harvestable crops drop their produce first, but plan your last-week planting accordingly. All-season workhorses like Onion never let your fields sit empty.
Money that compounds
- Cook your catches and crops before selling when you unlock processing
- Berries and grapes look weak on paper but shine after keg processing in long runs
- Fruit trees take 25 days to mature — plant them early so they’re producing by mid-game
Romance, when you’re ready
Dating unlocks at Heart Level 4 with a villager, and proposals happen after the 8-heart cutscene. Every character has loved-gift themes (pink for Mina, black tulips for Evan, trash items for Death). Our full villager gifts guide has the complete table.
Common early mistakes
- Planting out the whole farm on day one, then running out of energy to water it
- Giving Noel flowers — he hates them (fish and Golden Eggs, please)
- Ignoring birthdays: they’re marked on your calendar and are the fastest friendship lever in the game
- Forgetting that fertilizer raises quality only — it won’t speed anything up
