Moonlight Peaks Romance Guide — Dating, Heart Levels & Marriage

How romance works in Moonlight Peaks: 23 dateable villagers, dating from Heart Level 4, proposals after 8 hearts, date activities, divorce rules and platonic locks explained.

Updated 2026-08-23

Moonlight Peaks has 23 romanceable characters — bachelors, bachelorettes and unique options including Death itself. Here’s exactly how the system works.

The roster

  • Bachelorettes: Elvira, Mina, Luna, Fiona, Sabrina, Saga, Alina
  • Bachelors: Evan, Orlock, Samael, Ludo, Ridge, Noel, Aras, Dragan, Winston
  • Unique options: Death, Llemi, Jada, Persephone, Kim, Rei, Tae

How dating unlocks

  1. Raise friendship hearts through gifts and conversations — our gift guide lists every loved gift.
  2. The option to date begins at Heart Level 4. Some characters stay story-locked until you finish their personal quest.
  3. Relationship stages run: Acquaintance → Friend → Dating → Partner → Fiancé → Spouse.

Proposals and marriage

After the 8th-heart cutscene, propose at the end of your next date with the ring. Married life brings partners moving in — and consequences:

  • After marriage, all other romanceables lock at 4 hearts (platonic lock)
  • Neglecting your partner leads to a breakup — the town remembers
  • Your anniversary appears on the calendar with a wedding-cake icon

Breakups and divorce

Breakups are initiated through Llemi (fitting, for the underworld’s HR department). Divorce mechanics exist and are covered by major outlets; the short version is that ending things costs hearts with the community.

Date activities

Date options include Pottery, Flower Arranging, Embroidery, Marshmallow Roasting and Stargazing — each a small minigame that builds hearts faster than gifting alone.

Who to romance first

  • Fastest wins: villagers whose loved gifts are cheap and seasonal (flower-lovers like Mina and Luna).
  • Achievement hunters: Death’s trash-item diet makes it one of the cheapest courtships once you stop discarding Old Shoes.
  • Completionists: Kim, Rei and Tae have almost no documented gift data yet — courting them is frontier research. Document what works and the community will love you.
